Outreach Strategies for Vaccine Distribution: A Multi-period Stochastic Modeling Approach

چکیده

Vaccination has been proven to be the most effective method prevent infectious diseases. However, in many low- and middle-income countries with geographically dispersed nomadic populations, last-mile vaccine delivery can extremely complex. Because newborns remote population centers often do not have direct access clinics hospitals, they face significant risk from diseases infections. An approach known as outreach is typically utilized raise immunization rates these situations. A set of locations chosen, over an appropriate planning period, teams clinicians support personnel are sent a depot up mobile at vaccinate people there immediate surrounding area. In this paper, we model problem optimally designing efforts mixed integer program that combination covering vehicle routing problem. addition, because elements relevant (such populations road conditions) unstable unpredictable, address uncertainty determine worst-case solutions. This done using multi-period stochastic modeling considers updated parameter estimates revised plans for subsequent periods. We also conduct numerical experiments provide insights on how demographic characteristics affect where planners should focus their attention when gathering data.

A stochastic programming approach for multi-period portfolio optimization

Abstract — An Asset-Liability Management model with a novel strategy for controlling risk of underfunding is presented in this paper. The basic model involves Multi-Period decisions (portfolio optimization) and deals with the usual uncertainty of investment returns and future liabilities. Therefore, is it well suited to a stochastic programming approach. We consider the problem of rebalancing p...

A multi-period distribution network design model under demand uncertainty

Supply chain management is taken into account as an inseparable component in satisfying customers' requirements. This paper deals with the distribution network design (DND) problem which is a critical issue in achieving supply chain accomplishments. A capable DND can guarantee the success of the entire network performance. However, there are many factors that can cause fluctuations in input dat...

Optimal hedging strategies for multi-period guarantees in the presence of transaction costs: A stochastic programming approach

Multi-period guarantees are often embedded in life insurance contracts. In this paper we consider the problem of hedging these multiperiod guarantees in the presence of transaction costs. We derive the hedging strategies for the cheapest hedge portfolio for a multi-period guarantee that with certainty makes the insurance company able to meet the obligations from the insurance policies it has is...

A Novel Multi-Epitope Vaccine For Cross Protection Against Hepatitis C Virus (HCV): An Immunoinformatics Approach

Background: Hepatitis C virus (HCV) causes acute and chronic human hepatitis infections. Due to the high genetic diversity and high rates of mutations in the genetic material so far there is no approved vaccine against HCV. Materials and Methods: The aim of this study was to determination B and T cell conserved epitopes of E1 and E2 proteins from HCV and construction of a chimeric pepti...

A multi-objective evolutionary approach for integrated production-distribution planning problem in a supply chain network

Integrated production-distribution planning (PDP) is one of the most important approaches in supply chain networks. We consider a supply chain network (SCN) to consist of multi suppliers, plants, distribution centers (DCs), and retailers. A bi-objective mixed integer linear programming model for integrating production-distribution designed here aim to simultaneously minimize total net costs in ...
